چکیده
This research aims to extend the existing knowledge on air quality improvement by arboreal–shrub heritage. The PM accumulation (PM10–100, PM2.5–10, and PM0.2–2.5 (µg·cm−2)) was measured with consolidated gravimetric techniques during spring, summer, fall for 2160 leaf samples belonging basal, median, apical part of crown 17 species located in streets parks 2 European cities (Rimini Krakow). On same samples, deposition (PM10 PM2.5 (µg·cm−2·day−1)) evaluated according a model based wash-off rain effect. Quercus ilex accumulated more PMx than other Rimini, while Krakow, highest accumulators were Pinus nigra PM10–100, Tilia cordata Populus PM0.2–2.5. Only Krakow capture capacity some affected street or park growing condition. basal leaves showed greater PM10–100 median ones. In total tended increase throughout year, opposite occurred. However, as increased, decreased. reduced rainfall enhanced concentration, wind speed effect opposite, depending city. These findings are useful directing decision makers design greener, healthier, sustainable cities.

Short-term effects of particulate air pollution on cardiovascular diseases in eight European cities.
STUDY OBJECTIVE As part of the APHEA project this study examined the association between airborne particles and hospital admissions for cardiac causes (ICD9 390-429) in eight European cities (Barcelona, Birmingham, London, Milan, the Netherlands, Paris, Rome, and Stockholm). All admissions were studied, as well as admissions stratified by age. The association for ischaemic heart disease (ICD9 4...
متن کاملVariability in concentrations of potentially toxic elements in urban parks from six European cities.
Use of a harmonised sampling regime has allowed comparison of concentrations of copper, chromium, nickel, lead and zinc in six urban parks located in different European cities differing markedly in their climate and industrial history. Wide concentrations ranges were found for copper, lead and zinc at most sites, but for chromium and nickel a wide range was only seen in the Italian park, where ...
متن کاملGrowing Urban Roads
We present a simple simulation of road growing dynamics that can generate global features as belt-ways and star patterns observed in urban transportation infrastructure. The road growing dynamics consist of two steps: Identifying the maximum transportation potential bewteen two locations within the city, followed by the generation of the least expensive road between these two locations. The sim...

Contamination of pistachio nuts by aflatoxigenic strains of Aspergillus species is the greatest constraint to production and export of pistachio nuts in Iran, the leading producer of pistachio nuts in the world. Kerman province is the main region in Iran where 85%, of pistachio nuts are produced. Determining the population density of Aspergillus spores in the orchards and terminals which are th...

Poor urban air quality in developing countriesis a growing public health challenge due to rises in population, industries, urbanization and vehiclesalong with insufficient air quality management. Among the range of air pollutants exposure to particulate matter (PM) is of greatest concern due to its association with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. The present study reports traffic relate...
